Start with a checked brief
Define the reader, question and intended outcome. Supply confirmed service details and explain what is unknown. For a catering page, that might include the actual service area, ordering process and who confirms dietary enquiries.
Use an approved tool and avoid adding customer records or confidential material unnecessarily. A draft rarely needs identifiable enquiry histories to explain a general service.
Our content brief guide provides a structure.
Choose a bounded drafting task
Ask for an outline, a clearer version of supplied notes or alternative headings. These tasks are easier to inspect than a request to produce an entire authoritative guide from a title alone.
Specify that missing facts should remain questions for the reviewer. Do not invite the tool to invent a price, credential, customer result or source to make the copy sound complete.
Judge usefulness rather than the tool label
Google’s AI-content guidance focuses on accuracy, quality and relevance, and warns about generating large volumes without adding value. Using AI does not exempt a page from ordinary content expectations.
Check whether the draft provides something useful for the intended reader. Repetitive generalities need better source material, not simply another request to sound more natural.
Verify before polishing
- Highlight factual claims and numbers.
- Check them against approved information or original sources.
- Remove invented examples presented as real events.
- Review limitations and service conditions.
- Confirm source links actually support the statements.
Only then edit tone, structure and repetition. Our fact-checking guide gives a more detailed review process.
Keep responsibility clear after publication
Name an internal owner for the page’s accuracy, even if several people or tools helped draft it. Record where changing facts came from and when they need another review.
Test the page’s links, images and next steps as part of publication. An accurate paragraph inside a broken customer journey is not a complete result.
Use the content update checklist when the business changes.
