Keep enough context to reproduce the review
Record the exact question, date, search experience and statement you are checking. Save the cited page address and distinguish the business name from the specific source URL.
Google explains that AI experiences can show different responses and links in its AI feature guidance. A later search may not reproduce the same answer.
Read the source in context
Open the cited page and find the passage that might support the statement. Read nearby conditions, dates and definitions. A sentence about one product may not apply to the entire range.
For example, a storage provider’s access hours might apply only to staffed reception. An answer describing them as unrestricted unit access would need checking against the actual policy.
Separate support from interpretation
- Does the source directly state the claim?
- Does the answer omit an important condition?
- Is the information current enough for the decision?
- Does the citation concern the correct business or product?
- Is the answer drawing an inference beyond the source?
Keep uncertainty explicit when the evidence is incomplete. Do not replace an unsupported answer with a different unsupported assumption.
If the source is your website
Check whether your page is ambiguous, outdated or inconsistent with other pages. Correct genuine problems in the source and record the change.
Do not assume that a source correction will immediately change every generated response. If the platform offers feedback, report the specific mismatch through that route without expecting a guaranteed outcome.

Describe what you actually observed
“Our delivery page was cited for this question on this date” is more precise than “AI recommends us.” A citation, recommendation, click and enquiry are different things.
